My Problem

My mid-2009 Mac Book Pro was running so slowly that is was useless. After a little research I figured I could up the ram from 2GB to 8GB. Wow! What a difference. My Mac Book functions like new. This is a worthy upgrade and an easy one. You pop off the back cover and the ram is held in place by a couple of clips.

I also purchased the Y1 Tri-Wing screwdriver and it worked flawlessly to remove the battery. I had previously purchased on on Ebay and it just didn't work. Avoid the ones on Ebay and buy it here.

The next thing I need to replace is my track pad which is no longer recognizes clicks.

Overall I am pleased with my Macbook but I have had to put some money into it. So far, I've purchased a new battery, new hard drive, ram and we can add track pad to the list.

My Fix

The repair was easy, straightforward and worth it.

My Advice

If you mac is running slow, consider a ram upgrade. If you need to replace the battery, get the tri-wing screwdriver.
