My Problem
Macbook becoming really slow and just freezing. Also running hotter than normal. Did all the recommended resets and tried 3 times to get Time machine to back-up hard drive but it could never save more thasn 24 percent before failing.
My Fix
The installation of the new Hybrid hard drive went pretty well, formatted hard drive and installed Snow Leopard from disc and applied all updates, up and running no problems. Installed Mountain Lion and all updates and then updated to Yosemite. Wow what an improvement over Mountain Lion. Runs better than ever.
My Advice
Hybrid drives are the way to go if you don't have the money for a SSD
