My Problem
The battery was going bad when I bought the macbook air from eBay a year or so ago. Finally wouldn't hold a charge at all.
My Fix
Replaced the battery with a new one from ifixit.com. The repair went like a charm. I had a set of Pentalobe screwdrivers and so bought a T5 Torx along with the battery. No problems at all.
My Advice
Be sure to get the correct screwdrivers. Buy your new battery from a reputable source. Lots of junk out there, even through Amazon (read the reviews).
