My Problem
Too many repairs to describe! We're a Help Desk at a private university and all of our technicians are student workers; they come to us with little to no experience, and they leave confident and ready to rip-apart any machine and get to the guts of the issue
My Fix
4+ years of repairs and no unhappy customers; our techs start with the basics, open up a Macbook Pro and replace the Hard Drive. They move on to stuff like replace the HDD cable, replace the WiFi Cable, up to replacing the LCD screens on all sorts of machines. We've opened up xboxes, iphones, routers, a few printers once or twice, and each time was a learning experience
My Advice
Most of our techs walk in with no knowledge; and that's not why we hire them. We seek out curious and brave persons who aren't afraid to just try and explore. With the right tools, by the end of their employment at our Help Desk, they're ready for just about any tech problem thrown at them.
