My Problem
The battery on my old iPhone 3g couldn't hold a charge for more than 10 minutes without shutting down. My son was using it to play music and some games but could never use it for very long. After looking at some prices for some used ipods, I decided to take the plunge and fix it myself.
My Fix
It started out straight forward and things were going well. I had some trouble getting the circuit board back in. The screw driver that came with the kit wasn't all that useful, but I wasn't worried because I bought an Ifixit tool kit (best money i've ever spent btw) awhile back and had the exact size I needed. Not going to lie, that little message on the box about "You got this" gave me that little pep talk that I needed to power through. Once I was done, I was amazed at how easy it was and mad that I didn't do this sooner.
My Advice
I really needed to use the pry tools in my iFixit kit to actually remove the battery so I would definitely recommend getting one .
