My Problem

My early 2011 macbook pro battery swollen so I buy one here, and arrived to my house just two days after I ordered! it was great, even if I live in Mexico!

My Fix

It was extremely easy to replace the macbook pro battery, though replacing the iPhone 4s battery was a little difficult but it was on the backplate to blame, even though I replaced it in less than 20 minutes

My Advice

Always keep an eye on your mail, if there's a problem ifixit team will contact you there ;)

My Problem

SO my battery had around 1500 cycles on it and finally bit the dust. Wouldn't hold a charge. So i bought another battery. Also my Hard Drive took a dump so I had to buy another drive. I Bought and SSD and replaced that as well. The tool made it a breeze to change out the battery.

My Fix

Repair was easy. The tool helped tremendously. Before I was trying to use a knife haha. worked out okay for awhile until I started stripping out the screws haha.

My Advice

Use the right tools for the right job. Makes life so much easier.

My Problem

Spilled orange juice on my Macbook Pro a while ago, and recently the mouse had started acting crazy and erratic, jumping around and not going where I wanted it to.

My Fix

Replaced the trackpad and battery, since it seemed like trackpad issues were often battery expansion issues. Took about 15 minutes. The online guide was really helpful, especially the color-coded guide to screw size and placement.

My Advice

I bought my new battery from Amazon, and it came with a tip for SMC reset: shut down the computer, plug in the power cord, and press shift-control-option (left side) and the power button at the same time. Then let go of all four and turn on the computer!

My Problem

After 4 years the battery was swollen on my MacBook Pro 13inch. Bottom line, the computer was just fine. It still met our needs as a family and most of the time we had it docked with the thunderbolt display so the screen resolution was no issue. So happy we didn't have to purchase a new computer and can wait for a few more years to get a future generation.

My Fix

Total repair time was 15 minutes. The Tri-wing screwdriver was perfect!

My Advice

Always buy the accessories that iFixit recommends. It really does save you time vs. going around to stores looking for specialised tools!

My Problem

Wii console wouldn't read disc. Tried cleaning and all easy fixes before deciding to replace the DVD drive.

My Fix

We used your (IFIXIT)guide and had it up and running in less than an hour with no problems.

My Advice

The only thing that will make the process ay easier would be to have magnetized screwdrivers and to use needle nose pliers rather than tweezers. For those who don't already know it's simple to magnetize any metal shaft screwdriver simply by taking a strong magnet and stroking it along the shaft from the handle towards the tip several times and you end up having a magnetized screwdriver. Also organize the parts and screws in order as removed by the instructed steps and reassembly is a breeze.

My Problem

The battery soared up for no apparent reason.

My Fix

Took less than 5 minutes

My Advice

Don't think it twice, its easy!

My Problem

Simple -- the battery died

My Fix

Bought battery from Ubatteries. Bought tools from you

Guys. Repair was smooth as silk

My Advice

Trust ifixit.

My Problem

My compie was losing charge after minutes of being unplugged

My Fix

Great! I used the video for 2011 macbook pro battery replacing in combination with the guide for my 2009 model. It was easy and now my computer keeps its charge for hours when unplugged. My trackpad also works much better than before the replacement, apparently it's common for the original/old batter to bulge/swell beneath the trackpad - new battery solved this problem too.

My Advice

Follow the directions, get your replacement battery from a reputable source (with some kind of warranty) and use ALL of the recommended tools. Take it slow, get yourself a can of compressed air to blow away the dust that will probably have accumulated inside of your computer's component panel, I also used a soft tissue to gently brush it away.

My Problem

My trackpad had become extremely hard to click and took a lot of force to do any clicking. So, I decided to replace the pad and upgrade the RAM while I was inside the computer.

My Fix

The repair was simple and easy and took about 25 minutes to complete. I even did a lot of cleaning inside the computer while I had it open to remove dust and grime.

My Advice

The big ah-ha moment for me came when I installed the new trackpad and felt that great clicking sound again. It worked great until I reassembled the entire computer and found that the new trackpad wouldn't click either. After a few minutes of troubleshooting, I found that my battery had swollen and was pressing against the trackpad preventing it from clicking. I ordered a new battery and all is well. Bottom line, check your battery for swelling before you replace your trackpad.

My Problem

My battery needed replaced on my 2009 MacBook Pro. It wouldn't hold a charge for more than 15 minutes, and now I have over 5 hours!

My Fix

It was easier than I thought it'd be to be honest. It took maybe a total of 10 minutes, and that was mostly because I was cautious opening it up for the first time.

My Advice

My advice is to look around for batteries online. I love ifixit for the quick delivery and high quality tools, but the prices of their batteries are about twice as expensive as the one I found on eBay.
