Confirm that you have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" Wi-Fi model. Your serial number should begin with B0C9 or B0CA. Find your serial number either under the Kindle's Settings or Device Info menu or check your Amazon account under Manage Your Content and Devices.

My Problem

Kid smashed the kindle fire 8.9" lcd and it needed to be replaced.

My Fix

It was easy. It took about 30 minutes from begin to end. I used a library card to separate the two pieces. Insert in one corner, slide down and around and carefully separate the two pieces.

Be very careful with the flex cable tabs that . . .

It was so easy, ridiculously easy!! Only took about 10 minutes, and that was with me being super cautious. Nothing exploded, no rogue ravens or anything. Seems a lot of people were having problems with putting it back together, . . .
