My Problem

The computer fell out of an (unbeknownst to me) open backpack when I flung it over my shoulder, breaking the screen and severely damaging the display assembly.

My Fix

I ordered the part from IFIXIT after finding out Apple's cost of replacement would be 2/3 of $1,000 - before tax. So I ordered the part at 2/ . . .

Be prepared to clean dust out while you've got the case off ( I used a gentle fan)

Purchase the recommended tools.

One thing that wasn't covered in the guide.. the hinges on the assembly kit were . . .

Be careful when putting the bottom cover back on, as to not pinch any wires. I pinched the camera wire initially...
