Introduction
Go to step 1 ↓Follow this guide to cover a cracked smartphone display or glass back cover with packing tape prior to making repairs. This makes the part easier to remove with a suction cup, as well as protects you from glass shards.
What you need

Lay overlapping strips of packing tape over the glass until the whole surface is covered.

If the broken glass makes it difficult to get a suction cup to stick to the surface, try folding a strong piece of tape (such as duct tape) into a handle to lift the glass.

Wha.....WHY?! The screen will not work!
Hello server ghost, as noted in the introduction, we recommend taping over cracked glass to create a surface for a suction handle to hold onto as well as to prevent bodily harm during repairs.
