Introduction
This guide shows you the steps needed to recycle an iMac and turn it into a neat whiteboard. I recommend verifying that you can no longer fix or use your iMac and when you tear it down, try to save as many components or parts for future repairs. Hope you find it useful!
This guide gives you the whiteboard measurements for working with a 24inch iMac.
What you need
-
-
Apply contact cement to the inside borders of the front case. Leave to dry for about 5 minutes.
-
-
-
-
Place the whiteboard onto the front case and put weight on it.
-
Make sure that the whiteboard touches the lower side of the metal panel.
-
Leave to dry out for a day.
-
-
-
Mark up 4 lines of 4cm each on the cardbox.
-
Cut up a rectangle and fold to make up a cilinder. Use scotch tape to hold them together.
-
Repeat to get 2 more cilinders.
-
-
-
Glue the cilinders to the back case of the iMac.
-
This is to have some pressure against the whiteboard.
-
-
-
After the contact cement has dried, take out the small contact cement remnants from the board with a cardbox cutter and a plastic tool (as to not damage the whiteboard)
