    • Remove the two T8 Torx screws securing the upper bracket to the hard drive.

    • Remove the upper bracket from the hard drive.

Do I do anything with this with regards to the new drive?

  2. iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 Hard Drive Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the two T8 Torx pins from the other side of the hard drive.

  3. iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 Hard Drive Replacement: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Carefully peel off the piece of EMI foam attached to the front of the hard drive.

    • Don't forget to transfer this to your new hard drive.

This step and the next don’t align. The HDD pictured in step 15 does not come in a tray or enclosure it’s a solid lump of plastic and metal.

Yes, but how do I open the case to get to the drive? Where do the suction cups come in? What is the EMI foam for?

This guide is missing several steps.

Hi! You have somehow stumbled upon a prerequisite guide that is improperly labeled. This guide is supposed to be used in part with a larger guide.

You can find the complete guide here. Sorry about the confusion!
