How hot (how many C) should the iOpener be? I think it would be safer / more accurate to heat the iOpener in an oven with accurate temperature control.

Careful here. The back cover cracked in two places. Once when I exerted pressure with the suction handle, and in the corner when moving the pick around the edges- even though I was very gentle. The battery was adhered firmly to the back cover.

After the adhesive around the egdes is loosened, pull up the back cover with your suction handle. Use a tweezer to pull out two black straps that are attached to two pieces of adhesive right on the battery.

Gently pull out both of the black straps with the adhesive tabs. Never pull out the straps upwards but always sideways. It can easily happen that you rupture the adhesive tabs right in between. In this case use a plastic card to pry off the back cover carefully, use heat if necessary !
