What you need

  1. Makita Chain Saw EA6100PR 2017 Chain Tensioner and Slide Replacement, Remove the sprocket guard plate: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Use a 13 mm socket to remove the two nuts securing the sprocket guard plate.

    • Remove the single 15.7 mm long T27 screw holding the chain tensioner assembly in place.

    • Use your fingers to pull the assembly out of its recess and remove it.

    • Lightly lubricate all moving surfaces.

    • Line up the tensioning assembly with its recess in the chainsaw and push it into the recess.

    • Make sure that the black plastic bearing slides in rounded-edge first.
