LG Refrigerator Ice Auger Motor Run Capacitor Replacement

What you need

  1. LG Refrigerator Ice Auger Motor Run Capacitor Replacement, Unplug your refrigerator: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Unplug your refrigerator before you begin your repair.

    • If you are testing or repairing the following items, you may also need to shut off and disconnect the water supply:

    • Condenser fan motor

    • Compressor motor and thermal overload device

    • Water supply valve assembly

  2. LG Refrigerator Ice Auger Motor Run Capacitor Replacement, Unfasten the control board cover: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the control board cover.

  3.     • Tilt the top edge of the cover toward you and lift it off.

  4.     • Squeeze and pull the connectors to disconnect them:

    • Connectors from the control board

    • Connectors from the refrigerator

    • Some connectors can remain connected as the wires attached to them don't get in the way. There is no harm if they are disconnected. Remember to reconnect them if disconnected.

    • Reposition the wiring harness away from the capacitor.

  6.     • Pull the two connectors straight off the capacitor to disconnect it.

    • Handle the capacitor carefully as it may still be charged, and can give a dangerous and painful electrical shock. Avoid touching the terminals with your fingers or hands.

    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw securing the capacitor to the refrigerator.

    • Remove the capacitor.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
