What you need

    • Peel off the paper wrapper on all of the crayon pieces.

    • Boil water to 212°F/100°C.

    • A kettle is recommended for more control when pouring.

    • Cut a piece of aluminum foil about 6x2 inches.

    • Fold the 6 inch side of foil in half.

    • Fold up all four sides of the foil to create a thin rectangle, about 1 inch away from the edges.

    • Pinch up the corners of the foil by following the folded creases made in the last step.

    • Repeat this step for all four corners.

    • Insert the broken crayon pieces into the foil mold.

    • Place mold into a heat-safe container.

    • While holding onto the mold, carefully pour in boiling water up to the rim of the mold.

    • Your mold may float in the water or tilt to one side while water is being poured.

    • Wait for the wax to fully melt.

    • Be careful when handling hot materials.

    • Take the mold out of the water once cooled.

    • When wax has moderately hardened, loosen the sides of the foil from the wax.

    • Cut a corner of the foil mold and unwrap the crayon.

    • Leave the newly created crayon in a cool and dry area overnight to fully solidify before use.
