What you need

    1. HP Pavilion 15-eg0021nr RAM Module Replacement, Lower Case: step 1, image 1 of 1
      • Completely power off and unplug the charger and any peripheries before beginning.

      • Close the display and flip the laptop upside-down.

      • Remove the two rubber feet on the lower case.

      • If you intend to reuse the feet, lightly heat them with a hair dryer and take care not to warp or tear them as your remove them.

      • Remove the following screws securing the lower case with a Phillips #1 screwdriver:

      • Four 6 mm-long

      • Two 5.5 mm-long

      • Insert an opening pick into the seam between the lower case and chassis,

      • Pry around the entire perimeter until the lower case fully releases.

      • Remove the lower case.

      • Two clips secure the RAM module in place, one on each side. Using your fingers, spread the clips away from the RAM module.

      • Pushing too forcefully on the clips may cause them to bend, rending them incapable or properly securing the RAM stick.

      • Remove the RAM module.

      • To insert the new one slide it in.

      • Note: The new RAM stick will now be at an angle. Not flush with the clips. It will look like the second picture.

      • Press down on the RAM stick and you will hear a click. This ensures that the metal clips have reclipped onto the new RAM stick.

      • Reminder: The last picture shows how the RAM stick looks after it has been fully inserted.
