Introduction
If the power button doesn't work when you press it to power on your laptop, the power button panel may need to be replaced. The power button panel is where the power button and other buttons are located. Once replaced it should run smoothly.
Before you replace it, make sure that it's not another issue such as a dead battery, out-of-date software, etc.
Follow this guide to replace the power button panel of your Gateway 600YG2 laptop. This guide will walk you through the steps.
Before you start the guide, just make sure the laptop is off and isn't connected to the charging adaptor or peripherals.
What you need

Insert the spudger between the "sysrq" and "ins" keys.

Gently pry free the power button panel above the keyboard, from the right and moving to the left.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
