Eton FRX3 Dynamo Unit Replacement

What you need

  1. Eton FRX3 Dynamo Unit Replacement, Tuning Dial: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Unplug the socket connection from the motherboard as shown in the image.

  2. Eton FRX3 Dynamo Unit Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the two 1 cm Phillips #0 screws that secure the tuning dial panel to the motherboard.

    • Gently lift the dial upwards to remove it.

    • Unplug all the component socket connections from the motherboard as shown in the image.

    • Remove the six 1 cm Phillips #0 screws that secure the motherboard to the case.

  6. Eton FRX3 Dynamo Unit Replacement: step 6, image 1 of 1
    • Fold the motherboard over the bottom of the device case.

    • Be careful not to damage the wires leading to the speaker.

  7. Eton FRX3 Dynamo Unit Replacement, Dynamo Unit: step 7, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the four Philips #00 screws securing the dynamo to the case.

  8. Eton FRX3 Dynamo Unit Replacement: step 8, image 1 of 1
    • Gently pull the dynamo straight upwards to remove it.

    • The gears and where they are seated on the dynamo, are covered in grease. Try to avoid touching where the gears seat, to keep the new gears as lubricated as possible!
