This is a simple step-by-step guide on how to remove and replace a battery for a Dell Inspiron 13-5368.

What you need

      • Remove the nine 6mm Phillips #0 screws that secure the back cover of the laptop.

      • Use a spudger / pry tool to pry up and remove the back cover.

      • Remove the four 3mm Phillips #0 screws at the corners of the battery that secure it to the laptop.

      • Pull the battery cable's black tab towards the battery to disconnect it from the motherboard.

      • Pull the tab parallel to the motherboard, not straight up.

      • Lift the battery straight up out of the housing.

The new battery replacement does not come with a cable to attach to the motherboard. How can I use the cable from the old battery?
