What you need

    • Loosen the nameplate on the bottom of the screwdriver and set it aside so that the right housing part can be removed in the next step.

    • The housing halves now lie loosely on top of each other. Lift the right housing half upwards and set it aside.

    • It may be that the two halves of the case stick together quite strongly due to the gasket in between. Then shake it delicately and pull vigorously. :)

    • The battery is labeled with: INR18650-13P SAMSUNG SDI 076

    • Heat the cables at both pole ends with a soldering iron and detach them.

    • Please dispose of the battery properly at local disposal points.

    • Connect the side of the new battery with the white ring (positive pole +) to the red cable. Solder the blue cable to the other side (without the white ring).

Is it okay to replace the battery with a new one that has a BMS (Battery Management System) on it? The BMS is in a form of small pcb strip, and that pcb is inside the protection jacket of the battery. TIA.

Yes, just make sure the new battery has the same length as the once installed, and that the new battery can handle 18 amps of continuous discharge.
