Alienware M15x RAM Replacement

Introduction

Upgrade your RAM for an instant increase in speed.

The M15x uses DDR3 1333MHz memory.

What you need

  1. Alienware M15x RAM Replacement, RAM: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • First, take off the battery by moving the latch to the left and pulling it up.

    • Then unscrew the two Phillips screws.

    • Pull the cover down, then up, revealing the internals

    • Unscrew the two screws indicated

    • Release the tabs on each side of the chip by simultaneously pushing each tab away from the RAM.

    • These tabs lock the chip in place and releasing them will cause the chip to "pop" up.

    • After the RAM chip has popped up, pull it straight out of its socket.

    • Repeat this process if a second RAM chip is installed.

I saw somewhere that it actually takes DDR2 ram not DDR3....
