Akko 3068B Battery Replacement

What you need

    • Remove the USB-C cable from the keyboard.

    • Turn off keyboard using the switch on the back.

    • Remove the keycaps using a keycap puller.

    • Removing them without thought can accidentally damage the switches on the keyboard. Proceed with caution.

    • Remove the three screws holding the PCB in place using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Insert a card to pry open the casing on the keyboard.

    • When prying open the casing, beware that there are clips that lock the casing to the keyboard. Make sure not to break them or the casing will not lock properly afterwards.

    • A small clear piece might fall out near the keyboard lights; make sure to place it back when reassembling.

    • Careful! If the keyboard is old, the PCB might just fall out.

    • Slowly lift up the PCB as there is a connector on the back; make sure not to rip it apart.

    • Lift up the sound proof foam.

    • Slowly wiggle the battery wire out of its connector on the motherboard.

    • If too much strength is applied, you can rip off the port.

    • Remove the battery from the keyboard.

    • Make sure that the new battery is compatible. This is a 1800 mah battery.
