Acer Aspire 5100 Cooling Fan Replacement

What you need

  1. Acer Aspire 5100 Cooling Fan Replacement, Battery: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Make sure the laptop is turned off and unplugged.

    • Flip the laptop over so the audio jacks are facing you.

    • Unlock the battery by sliding the button (located above the battery) towards the outer edge of the computer. When you feel the battery release and pop up, gently pull the battery from its compartment.

    • Locate and remove the 5 screws that secure the panel over the RAM and CPU cover on the upper right hand side. These can be found in the center towards the corner opposite the battery compartment.

    • Lift up and remove the RAM and CPU cover.

  4. Acer Aspire 5100 Cooling Fan Replacement: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the two Phillips screws securing the fan.

    • Carefully disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard.

    • Lift up and remove the fan.
