Background and Identification
The Satellite C660 is a line of budget laptops released by Toshiba. Although they share the same external design, the internal components of each product are different. All the models share a 1366x768 pixel screen at a size of 15.6 inches. In addition, they have a removable battery below the display hinge and a standard 2.5-inch hard drive bay. You can give this computer a great speed boost by replacing the original hard drive with a faster SSD.
Speaking of which, both the hard drive and memory are located behind a cover on the bottom of the computer. This makes the most common repairs a lot easier, since you don’t have to fully open up the laptop. The two memory slots that are accessible in this way can support up to 8 GB total.
You can identify the specific version of the Satellite C660 that you have by looking on the bottom of the laptop for a sticker containing the model number or model name. This should be listed as “Satellite C660-xxxx“ where the final portion denotes the specific revision. All the models are made from black plastic and have the word “TOSHIBA“ written in gray on the back of the display.
