Identification and Background ¶
Released in February 2009, the Sony® DVP-FX730 is a black, compact portable DVD player featuring a 7-inch widescreen monitor (480 x 234). It has the approximate dimensions of 8.9”(W) x 6.5”(D) x 1.8”(H). In addition, this device has a remote control (RMT-D191), rechargeable battery pack, AC adaptor (AC-FX160), and an A/V cable. This model features 2 built-in headphone jacks as well as an A/V output. It is compatible with DVDs, CDs, MP3s, and digital photos (JPEG); however this particular model cannot play Blu-Ray digital media.
This model has been discontinued, but newer models have been released. These feature swivel displays, stream-like designs, 7” + screens, vary in colors and have an additional HDMI output. A signature trademark of these devices is the much appreciated textured design that minimizes fingerprints.
