Background and Identification ¶
With the Novatel MiFi 2200, users can have access to the Internet with this mobile WiFi-enabled device. It is about the size of a credit card and can support several users and share its high speed Internet with others. It has a limit of five WiFi clients such as laptops, cameras and other mulitimedia players but can allow more clients if manually edited on the device configuration file. The device can be connected to a computer by a MicroUSB connection but this disables the WiFi, only allowing Internet access to one client.
The Novatel Mifi 2200 offers 3G Wi-Fi speeds. At a first glance, it looks fairly similar to Novatel’s two other Mifi devices but there are a few differences. The 2200 has edges that are not very rounded unlike the 2372, 2352, and 3352. The power button is the only button on the front of both of these devices, located in the lower right corner, but the 2372, 2352, and 3352 have a trapezoidal shape around the button in a different color, while the 2200 does not. Additionally, Novatel has a few devices that operate at 4G speeds, but each of these have an electronic display on the front.
