Background
Announced in October 2024—alongside the redesigned Mac mini and refreshed 2024 24" iMac—the quintessential MacBook Pro is updated once again with the next generation of Apple silicon: the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. And, to support Apple Intelligence, base memory increases to 16 GB as standard across the board.
The 14" MacBook Pro shares many of the same features introduced in 2021 and 2023's MacBook Pros, including ProMotion HDR mini-LED displays, 1080p webcams with a display notch, full-size function keys, and the distinctive blacked-out keyboard. Base model M4 MacBook Pros, previously with one less USB-C port, are now in parity with their stronger M4 Pro and M4 Max siblings.
Starting at a $1599, the 2024 14" MacBook Pro is available in either Silver or Space Black.

The 2024 MacBook Pro features a large flat glass screen, thin black bezels, a "notch" cutout at the top of the screen, black keys, and an aluminum enclosure. There's a large gloss black Apple logo on the top shell and "MacBook Pro" engraved into the bottom case.
A MagSafe 3 charging port, two USB-C ports, and a headphone jack can be found on the left edge, with an additional USB-C port, HDMI port, and an SD card slot on the right.
