The Dell XPS 14 L401X was released during the summer of 2011 as part of the XPS 14 Series from Dell. This Model can be identified by the "XPS L401X" on the bottom of the laptop and the "XPS" located at the top left corner of the display. This model has a 14 inch glossy display, a silver/gray plastic shell with a metal display backing. This line of laptops can be equipped with up to an Intel Core 17-740QM Processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce GT 425 M graphics adapter. XPS laptops also have built-in high fidelity JBL speakers that can be identified towards the top of the palm-rest.
The XPS 14 L401X has not faced any major recalls, but user reviews have noted "overheating" to be an issue with this line of laptops.
The Dell XPS 14 L401X was replaced in the summer of 2012 by the Dell XPS 14 L421X and by other later models. However, the features this laptop boasts allows it to continue competing with newer models.
