The Dell Latitude 5480, unlike desktop computers, is a laptop device that can be transported easily to various places. This device includes features such as it being 14 inches in size, 1366 x 768-pixel, HD graphics 620, 8 GB RAM, USB Type C charging station, Bluetooth, SD security card reader, 256 GB SSD for storage, USB 3.0, VGA that can be connected to monitors or projectors for presentations. It was released by Dell Technologies on January 26, 2017 but only parts for replacement are available for purchase on Dell’s website as of 2024. The Intel core 7^th generation i5 original price in 2017 was $869 but it is currently marketed anywhere between $200-400 at Best Buy, Office Depot, Amazon etc. The target audience for this product would be businessmen, or students who regularly create presentations electronically. The 5480 is a part of the latitude family and falls under the 5000 series which supersedes the 3000 series. The features, memory, storage and processors are better on the 5000 series versus the 3000 series. Each computer in the 5000 series can be modified to include more storage or memory depending on what the person is using the computer for. The 7000 series came around the same time as the 5000 series, but the life of the 7000 series is considered high end with its abilities to last a lot longer. The 7000 series is thinner than the 5000s series which can be appealing to some users, and it has faster processors. If a user would like to find out what series their device is a part of they can locate it on the bottom of their laptop. It will say for example, "Latitude 5480" in bold letters and tell you your device model. Most users buy the 5480 refurbished and have come across charging issues as well as their finger touch not working or a dim touchscreen. Some 5480s are advertised to have touch screen features but some users are disappointed when they receive theirs and it does not include this feature. For users who do not run into issues the laptop’s battery life is said to last for longer periods of time.
