What ram would I use in this for

Im trying to install a Samsung SSD 830 SERIES laptop and pc kit FOR Macbook pro 2010 13. What ram would i use to make the solid state drive and macbook pro work? Because all i get is a grey screen and wont boot to OSX Restore disc when i try to boot to the solid state and i looked at my ram inside my macbook pro its DDR3 RAM . And it says it only supports DDR2 for the solid state drive . Or is the solid state drive not compatable with my laptop? Im in a big ball of confusion. Someone please help me here :P?

The drive that you ordered is not compatible with the MacBook Pro you are using. Your MacBook Pro has a 3Gb/s connection but the drive you have a 6Gb/s hard drive. You would have to get a 3Gb/s hard drive, which is the Intel 630 or 320 series. The ram as nothing to do with the hard drive not working. If you downgrade your drive to a 630 then it would work.

Hope this Helps

i have a late 2008 13" unibody and am running a replacement samsung 830

drive w no problem. your 2010 is newer and better so seems like compatibility of hard drive is not the issue.

i lost my startup disc so i went to genius bar and they installed the system while i waited. not ifixit but at least free.
