Water damaged, hung up on the USB/iTunes screen

After drying out my Iphone 3g,

it just has a constant screen of a usb cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol. I have tried connecting it to itunes and restoring But nothing happens, it just keeps keeps the arrow pointing to the itunes symbol.

Does it need to dry out more? or do I need to download Itunes again???

if is the battery do I have to take to an Apple store to get a battery?

not the At&t store, right?

Cathy Gianella, good thing you let it dry out. The first thing to do, or specifically not to do, is to continue to turn it on. I suggest you clean your iPhone according to this guide. Letting it dry out is good, but it will not prevent failure due to corrosion damage, down the line. After it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. The battery is available right here, as well as many other places. Here are the guides to work on your phone. Once you got all that accomplished, reevaluate for any further damage.
