Ear speaker and top mic not working

When making calls, people can hear me but I cannot hear them. If I switch to speaker phone, I can hear them but they cannot hear me. I can hear and talk with a bluetooth device.

Have reset the software twice with no luck. Ear speaker gradually got worse until went silent all together. No water damage or drops.

Sounds like you need to replace the proximity sensor flex cable and the earspeaker. The flex cables has the top noise cancelling mic attached to it. It is what you use on speakerphone, voice memos, apps etc. The bottom speaker is for regular calls. Definitely is hardware not software. Make sure the cable is plugged in the logic board.

I just took the charge cable wiggled it around and messed with the control +/- buttons as well as the silence switch. Then it started to work normally again.
