Problem with half surface of the screen

Hello, the problem of my iPhone 2G is that the half of the screen is not working. In addition I the iPhone is not responds when I am trying to touch its screen from Unlock slide to the middle of the screen. However, the other half of screen is still touchable.

Do you have any idea how to fix it? Or what maybe is the problem?

Thanks.

Well, It looks like one of those "programmed obsolescence" things, My iPhone 2G DID fell down and has exactly the same issue, actually I've heard about many more iPhones this same generation havin exactly the same diagnostics... So it's misterious, is it a hardware issue? or a software automatic triggered function :(

@Dakenson, that is a common error on any touch screen device, regardless of age, or manufacturer.
