What to replace- vibrate switch too sensitive?

If the phone is set to vibrate, only a mild touch on the toggle will set to sound and then silent environments, thus making the phone vibrate. A bit annoying.

Which spare part should I get? The button itself, the flex cable (I think it includes the switching part itself), or both?

Perhaps thorough cleaning would also solve the problem?

you will need the whole flex cable changed because the switch for the vibrate is part of the flex cable, most likely the switch has become faulty and needs a nice fresh one.

search for 3gs flex cable and that should be all you need.

please note: changing that specific part is the worst of all iphone fixes because its really tricky to get it to work properly after.

even being a iphone repair mechanic i would prefer to pay £20 for someone to do it because ive never done it exact 100%
