Nintendo's first 3DS handheld device released February 2011, identified by model number CTR-001.

Top screen backlight not working

Hello, I bought a faulty 3DS with the intent to repair.

The console couldn't power on, which I fixed, however the top screen has image, but no backlight. I checked the ribbon cables and the connectors, but i couldn't see any tear or damage.

If somebody knows what could cause this problem or what should I check on the motherboard, I would appreciate it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi!

Yes, this could be caused by the PMIC failure.

Please see Testerfan’s post here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-backligh...

Another possibility is that the backlight inside the screen is broken.

In this case, you need to test with a new screen.

Please let me know how it goes :)!
