The Huawei Nova 5T was released in September 2019 and manufactured by Huawei.

Who should I trust?

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with my phone screen and need your advice. The first picture (with the thin line) was taken on August 13th, and the second picture (where it got worse) was taken on September 14th.

These marks appeared completely out of nowhere without any recent physical damage. There was an old drop in the exact same spot about 10 months ago, but the phone was in a case and working fine since then.

I took it to the official authorized service center, and they said the entire screen needs to be replaced. However, I also visited several local repair shops. Two or three technicians told me this is just 'ink' and it will disappear on its own over time. One of them even advised me to keep the screen brightness at maximum, claiming that the heat will make it go away.

What is your opinion on this? Is it possible for this spot to disappear on its own, or is the official service center right about needing a screen replacement?

This " Two or three technicians told me this is just 'ink' and it will disappear on its own over time" is something I absolutely do not trust. These screens do not have any "ink"! What looks like ink is actually internal LCD fluid pooling under the glass. You have a damaged liquid crystal layer. That means you will need a new screen.

@oldturkey03 thank you.. looks like my phone is done for, I cannot get an original screen replacement from Huawei Center(it's no longer available) and importing it isn't an option :(

@mohammedal93428 That's just to bad. No chance of getting a screen from anywhere? At least there is still some life left in the phone even with the damage. Use it as long as you can.

@oldturkey03 Just the unoriginal screens and you know.. It's untrustworthy.

I'm thinking of upgrading but none of the current Huawei phones is worth a penny.

@mohammedal93428 yes, right now seems like there just aren't any decent phone's out there for a decent price.
