Loud noises from ice maker
LG French Door. I have a loud knocking noise that repeats for about 15 times before the large ice cubes in my lower freezer come out.

How old is this unit? Do you filter water before it goes into the fridge? Do you have hard water, calcium and other minerals contributing to deposits on ice trays that may make it difficult for the ice maker to break ice cubes away from the tray? Improved ice makers use heating elements just before ice is removed from a tray to facilitate less load on the motor. Review your owner's manual or try going online for free manuals from the manufacturer.

If the model has two ice makers which one has the problem?
