Computer shuts off when launching game

So my Buddies PC turns off when launching a game, he has brought it to two different repair shops (one of the shops replaced the PSU), It worked perfectly fine with them. I brought it home works perfectly fine for me. When he brought it back to his house though it started again, multiple different outlets, different PSU cords, nothing works. No one knows what is causing it. we have narrowed it down to all his power outlets being faulty, but his GF's PC doesn't do it. He hasn't been able to play games in months, we are defeated.

Any suggestions will help.

Try your friend's pc in your home/apartment to verify the pc works with the game program. If the pc runs correctly, your friend's power outlets may be faulty or something more serious. If you know how to use a multimeter, measure outlet voltage. It should be 110-120 vac. Compare your outlet voltages with his.

Hello,

Now here's what I think that's happening here: Your setup is over-wattage, causing the whole computer to switch off in order to make sure that nothing blows up. Did you so happen to upgrade the PSU by any chance if and when you were upgrading your PC? If not, then that would've been my very first step.

Hope this helps,

T
