Where is this tiny piece go?

Was replacing the screen for someone and i took the logic board out to check the dock connector since they were having issue with the charging port. I was separating the bezel a little to get some dirt out and this piece fell out of the phone.

It looks a little like the volume bar..Either the black plastic bar that sits on the flex itself (under the metal outer buttons) or the buttons themselves. If its got silver buttons on black plastic it's the outer button. If its black plastic with 2 circular ends then it's the inner sheaf.
