How to access internals?

The power button on my Smoke X4 sometimes sticks and is working intermittently. Pretty sure there’s some grease or sauce on the contacts. Trying to access the button, but having trouble accessing the internals.

I’m assuming there are screws under these plastic circles, but I can’t get under them. I’ve tried force and heat so far. Anyone have experience?

Thank you!

Hi @harleytat

Try using a pry tool to get under the cap.

Here's the ifixit Prying and Opening Tools list that may give you some ideas.

If you have something similar to the Jimmy it may be worth trying it first.

If all no good use a drill bit just smaller than the size of the cap to remove it. It will destroy it but at least you can see what's underneath.

Worst case is if it is a plastic rivet in which case you would have to destroy it to get it out.

Thanks for this! I've pried with and without heat to no avail. Might need to break out the drill.
