White spots on Clothes
14+ year old Kitchen Aid model KAWS850LT1 does not wash clothes properly. White spotty residue on clothes after wash cycle ends

Check if the agitator is working properly.
With the washer turned off you should be able to manually turn the agitator in a clockwise direction but not in an anti clockwise direction.
If you can manually turn the agitator in both directions then there may be a problem with the agitator dogs
