Plastic lens for flash

Block Image

Hi, I recently got a Kodak Easyshare CD82 from the thrift store. When I got home and put in some batteries and tried to take pictures, it kept making this shuttering/buzzing sound. So I opened it up to see if anything was broken, but then I realized I have no idea what I'm doing. When trying to close it back, I was having issues with putting back the plastic piece that covers the flash. I got electrocuted like two times attempting to place it back in. I can't really close the camera back or use it if the piece isn't in. I'm low-key scared to get shocked again and have no idea what to do 😅.

@allama97334 got zapped a couple times on the flash capacitors myself. No fun at all ;-) Anyhow, take some pictures of what you got going on there. Post those with your question. That way we can see what you see and hopefully can figure out what to do to help you out. Of course, you also want to take a look at guides like this Kodak EasyShare CD82 Lens Assembly Replacement and see if those are helpful to you.

Sorry, I didn't realize the photos weren't there. I took a look at the guides but they don't show how to attach back the plastic lens.

@allama97334 looks like it may just snap on. If not, go ahead and try a dab of "crazy glue" You'll never have to open that anyway ;-)

@oldturkey03 When I tried to snap it in place I got electrocuted lol.

Edit: Ok after trying again I got the piece in. THANK GOD
