How do I fix a battery port?

Ok I have looked everywhere and cant find a guide or even a forum that shows how to replace a battery port not a charging port. Im talking about the por that allows your battery to connect to the psp. A link will show the part I am talking about. Any help would be very much appreciated. My cousin broke this battery port off and now im trying to see if I can attach a new one. Thanks in advance.

This is the piece.

Any chance you could post a couple images of the actual broken piece on the logic board?

ramon, it does depend on how it is broken off, since it is soldered onto the logic board. Hopefully the traces are still intact and you could try to hot air solder the part. If you are unsure how to do that, you can use an old logic board to practice, or have a local repair shop do the repair. It will be relatively inexpensive if you disassemble it and just take the board. Use this guide to remove the board. Hope this helps, good luck.

Well like I said this is my cousins psp so it isn't in my hands right now however I am working on putting up the picture today. Thanks soo much for the quick response. I am not sure of the traces are still intact so I will post the picture up as soon as he gives my the picture tonight. Oh and if say I cant do this repair can I switch out the motherboard?

Yes you can, but that would be a bit drastic. If all it take is to solder the three contacts, I would definitely do that first. Let us know...
