little ribbon guard mainboard

hi

I just reassembled an new display on my iphone 4 and unfortunately this little black ribbon guard on the top of the mainboard broke off(or is not inserted anymore)

Note that there is a rubber guard on the edge of the logic board where the Digitizer and LCD ribbon cables bend over the logic board. Make certain it is there before replacing the logic board during reassembly.

can anybody tell me, where this piece has to be inserted??or what it is actually for??

thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The black rubber piece is there to make sure that the ribbon cables for the display do not get creased and instead only bend at a certain degree. There is a little black grove on the rubber piece and that grove fits with the logic board. Its not meant to stay there and can easily come off so all you have to do is slip it back on to the top of the logic board. Here is a picture of it right above where it is put on the logic board:

Hope this Helps
