Touchscreen weird after disassembly

I had dropped the iPhone 4 and the front glass got a small "bubble" on the top, well above the LCD.

I figured I could disassemble and apply some pressure on the inside of the glass to make the bubble go away. Followed strictly the display install instructions on iFixit but it turned out the bubble wasn't visible from the inside and pressure didn't help, so I reassembled.

After reassembling the touchscreen is weird. There are a few horizontal stripes where it works well but vertical movement rarely works and areas between the horizontal stripes don't work at all. I tried reopening and cleaning the digitizer connector with isopropyl alcohol but it made no difference.

Did I break something? Can I fix it?

It sounds like the digitizer is broken. I would go ahead and replace the screen assembly.
