Hood sensor switch voltage

Hello.. I am trying to install a remote start kit in my grand daughters 2018 Ford Edge. It requires a working hood sensor circuit, I have discovered the voltage at the hood switch is 3 or 4 volts, Do I look for damaged wiring or could it be a bad BCM? Not sure how far into this I can go before I'm over my head.

Any thoughts please?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@jerryparnell "Do I look for damaged wiring or could it be a bad BCM?" neither nor. "3 or 4 volts" That is actually the right voltage. It is a low voltage signal circuit coming from the BCM and that voltage is exactly what the BCM will provide. No error on this circuit
