The JBL Flip 6 lacks a traditional 3.5mm AUX input but supports a USB-C "AUX mode" (also called service mode) for wired audio playback from a connected device. Your issue with buttons not responding to multi-press combinations, including factory reset attempts, suggests the speaker may already be stuck in service/lock mode, where buttons are intentionally unresponsive.
Ensure the speaker is powered on first. Press and hold the Bluetooth (rear) and Play/Pause (front) buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds until it shuts down and restarts—then connect a USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning cable from your source device (phone/laptop) for audio. Buttons like volume won't function in this mode; control from the source device.
If multi-button presses fail entirely, the speaker is likely locked: Plug in the USB-C charger (required), then press and hold Bluetooth + Play/Pause for 10-20 seconds to exit service mode. For factory reset afterward, hold Play/Pause + Volume Up (+) for 5-10 seconds until it powers off. Persistent unresponsiveness may indicate hardware faults like button damage, common in repairs or fakes—test single buttons first and consider JBL support if unresolved.
Contact JBL support or a service center if resets fail after charging, as this points to potential flex cable/button defects rather than user error. The device, released in 2021, has a typical 1-year warranty, but check your purchase date.
