The Nintendo Switch is a handheld game console that can be played on the TV via a docking station, or on the go. Released March 3rd, 2017.

Controllers/joycons disconnecting, not synching

Im having intermittent connectivity with controllers (joycon, pro controller, 3rd party) on my switch, I have verified that the antennas, both BT and Wifi are firmly corrected and event tested continuity from the antenna board to the switch MB, WIFI seems to work OK although I dont have a real way to test for continuous wifi connection. Issue persist either docked or undocked.

Most of the time the controllers wont connect, and when they do, its only for a short while, and usually just after restarting and only after connecting to a wifi network.

Wireless controller IC seems fine and no damaged capacitors/resistors nearby, also checked capacitors near APU and they are OK.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi!

Are you sure that the bluetooth controller is fine?

As how you are describing it I would say that there is something going on with the antenna’s..

I would replace some parts and see how that goes. New antenna’s are not that expensive and easy to replace and test.

If that’s not it, then it must be motherboard related.

I think there is not much left to try… sorry.

Yes, tested controllers on a different switch, waiting for a replacement BT antenna, just was hoping to get pointers of any possible SMT components that could cause the issue, appreciate the comment

Alright, will check the antenna’s with new ones first and see how that goes. If that fails it’s probably the bluetooth IC on the board..
