Only a few select buttons do not work
Buttons, "1", "2", "Q", "`", "esc", and sometimes WASD and 3,4. but the rest of the keyboard works fine

This issue usually means a keyboard matrix or ribbon-cable problem, not software. The affected keys (Esc, `, 1, 2, Q, WASD) sit on the same keyboard column, so a damaged trace, liquid residue, or loose connector can cause selective failure. First, test with an external keyboard—if it works, the OS is fine. Power off, open the device, reseat and clean the keyboard ribbon cable with isopropyl alcohol. Check for corrosion or bent pins. If cleaning doesn’t help, the keyboard membrane is damaged and the only reliable fix is keyboard replacement.
