A1708 / EMC 2978 — Released October 2016, this entry-level MacBook Pro retains its traditional function keys (as opposed to the OLED Touch Bar). The function key version packs an Intel Core i5 and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

MacBook is completely unresponsive - Not even fans spin up

My MacBook Pro does not show any signs of life whatsoever. I have tried both a 20w and 27w charger, same result. I have opened it up and see no signs of liquid damage, and from what I know it's never been in contact with any. I have no problem disassembling the whole case if needed for troubleshooting, I just want to get it to power on. The ports seem clean as well.
Any response is appreciated

Ideally you need a USB-C power meter to place inline with your charger to see what is happening. Given the age of the system it's also possible the battery has failed and requires replacing.

The computer would still boot without the battery, right? I have tried unplugging it and that didn't change anything. When using some chargers the brick itself heats up, but I don't have a power meter available currently

@megabytes2048 - Then there is likely a deeper logic board issue as well.
